Samuel L. Gomez, Sr., age 79 of Seguin, passed away on October 10, 2021. Samuel was born on January 26, 1942 in Seguin, Texas to Manuela (Lesa) and Alberto Gomez. He worked for West Point Pepperrell Eastland Plant in New Braunfels, Texas for 24 years and then worked for Ford Motor Company. Samuel loved all his times spent with family and friends, especially reviewing lottery tickets, trips to Vegas or any other casinos closer to home. His most cherished time was spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Xavier Ernest Gomez, his brothers, Emeterio Gomez, Nicolas Gomez, Julian Gomez, Sr., and his sisters, Maria Ascencion and Juanita Martinez.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Mary E. Gomez; children, Samantha Gomez, Samuel L. Gomez, Jr., and Michael Joe Gomez, Sr. and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Brianna Gomez, Alyssa Baldera, Rebecca Gomez, Kathy Gomez and Michael Joe Gomez, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Michael Thomas Reyes, Josiah Dominic Urena, and Cashmier Schmidt; sisters, Catalina Benavides and Dolores Perez; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends.
Private services will be held, however a public visitation will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Private interment will be held at a later date in the Santo Tomas Cemetery. Masks are requested at the visitation.
