(Seguin) — (DI) Global competition held virtually this year due to travel challenges caused by COVID.

The Weinert Elementary School team (pictured page 1) competed against 44 teams from around the globe in the Technology Challenge and brought home fifth place. Team members include Evan Flores, Paige Leyendecker, Ava Martinez, Piper Perry, Ali Schievelbein, Jason Ranft and Raegan Ranft.

The Barnes and Briesemeister middle schools’ team of Molly Burns, Eleanor Crettenden, Melanie Poe and Clara Spencer Dibble finished eleventh out of 60 teams in the Improvisational Challenge for middle schools.

Thirty-six teams competed in the elementary Service-Learning Challenge, including the 13th place team of third graders from Vogel Elementary School. The team is composed of Judah Acuna, Maya Diaz, Abigail Kortz and Gage Williams.

Michael Olstad and Pam Krippner serve as Seguin ISD creative and critical thinking program coordinators for Destination Imagination.
