Four Bulldogs named All-American Scholars by GCAA

(Seguin) – Texas Lutheran University men’s golf has tallied four D-III All-American Scholar nominees – Cameron Carter, Nathan Haley, Chase Maus, and Matthew McArthur – for their performances in the classroom in the 2020-21 season, the Golf Coaches Association of America has announced.

Carter (Rock Springs, WY/Kelly Walsh) joins the All-American Scholars Team for the first time while Maus (Manor/Manor) and McArthur (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) repeat for the second consecutive season and Haley (Richmond/Foster) joins the team for third consecutive season.

Haley, McArthur, and Carter, all May 2021 graduates of Texas Lutheran, graduate as four-year lettermen with 3.4+ GPAs. Maus, a junior, is a three-year letterman.

Haley, who continued his career long success in the classroom, wrapped his Bulldog career by capturing the individual Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship – the fourth Bulldog to do so. Maus, a 2021 PING All-American, will look to add to his accolades as he returns for his senior season.

At the Division III level, nominees must be a sophomore, junior, or senior both academically and athletically, must participate in 40% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average of 79.0 or less, and maintain a minimum, cumulative 3.2 grade point average for their careers. The recipient(s) must be of high moral character and in good standing with their respective college or university.
