Latest COVID-19 data being shared with public

(Seguin) — Officials from Guadalupe County Office of Emergency Management on Monday released an update on the latest COVID-19 figures.

Guadalupe County has administered 135,812 doses of vaccines, with 77,965 who have received at least one dose and 67,966 people who are now fully vaccinated.

Percentage wise, the numbers paint a clearer picture. The percentage of the population that’s 12 and over that has received at least one dose of the vaccine is at 55.74 percent. That number drops to 48.59 percent when you consider the eligible population that’s considered fully vaccinated. Again, that’s more than 50 percent of the eligible population here in Guadalupe County who have NOT been fully vaccinated.

They say the numbers look considerable better when you look at those who are 65 and older. County officials say 77.42 percent of those 65 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That number again drops when you look at those who are fully vaccinated.

Seventy-point-68 percent of the 65-and-older population in Guadalupe

County is now fully vaccinated.

Guadalupe County currently has 566 active cases. There have been 16,734 cases reported in Guadalupe County since the virus got started.

Most of those people have recovered. The county reports that of the 16,734 cases in the county, 15,943 have recovered.

The growth in the case rate is concerning, because it generally means that more hospitalizations are coming. That’s indeed been the case, of late, at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center. County officials say that GRMC is reporting 24 hospitalizations for COVID patients at this time.

Since the start of COVID-19, there have been 249 COVID-19 related deaths in Guadalupe County.

The county’s emergency management office still is acting as a resource for the public. If you have questions about COVID-19 vaccinations or any other COVID related questions, you can send an email to covid19@co.guadalupe.tx.us
