(Seguin) — While the temperatures outside are hot, the feeling inside downtown stores will be downright frosty this month during Third Thursday as the businesses host Christmas in July. The stores will be decked out in Christmas décor offering specials and holiday themed beverages on Thursday, July 15 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Everyone is invited to come out and go from store to store tasting beverages like Grinch Punch and Billie “Holliday” Sangria while they do some shopping for those must have finds and the “I didn’t even know I needed that” item. In addition to the holiday décor and beverages, you just might find a little snow falling in downtown and guest appearances from the big man himself, Santa Claus.
“Fourteen downtown stores are participating on Thursday evening,” said Amber Ehrlich, Board Member of the Downtown Business Alliance of Seguin, “So come out to visit all of them and enjoy some holiday cheer.”
Food trucks will be spread throughout the downtown area offering you some delicious dining options. Enjoy live music from area bands as they perform in Central Park, and the Downtown Business Alliance wants to ensure you see all participating businesses, so they are sponsoring a free shuttle to take you to each section of downtown. Stops include Central Park, Serenity Boutique, Keepers Interiors & Furniture, Funky Monkey and the Seguin Library – just look for the shuttle stop signs as you stroll around downtown.
Did we mention that it pays to shop small during Third Thursday? For every purchase made, your name will be entered to win a gift basket valued at over $500.00.
Third Thursdays are hosted be the Downtown Business Alliance of Seguin, a nonprofit membership organization that works to promote downtown Seguin. The Alliance welcomes all individuals, businesses, and organizations with a passion for downtown Seguin to join them.
So, mark your calendar for Thursday, July 15 to spend the evening in downtown Seguin for Christmas in July and come back downtown on Friday, July 16 to pick up your lunch during Food Truck Friday at 200 South Camp Street.
