(Marion) – Marion softball standout Lily Bek was named the Most Valuable Player in District 26-3A for the 2021 season, and a total of 10 Bulldogs received recognition on the district’s post-season award list.
Bek, a senior, will continue her softball career at Navarro Junior College.
Fellow senior Alyana Robles was named the District Defensive MVP, while junior Alyssa Robles was voted the Offensive Co-MVP.
Junior pitcher Jaslyne Williams, sophomore infielder Julianna Loyola, junior outfielder Kristina Miles, and freshman outfielder Kylie Balderas each made the All-District First Team.
Freshman outfielder Peyton Smith-Velasquez landed on the All-District Second Team.
Sophomore infielder Breyana Gonzales and freshman Kira Jones made the Honorable Mention list.
The Bulldogs went 14-14-1, won the District 26-3A championship, and advanced through the bi-district round to the area bracket of the 3A Region IV playoffs in Sammy Scribner’s third season as head coach.
