Dirty River Jazz Band to Return to Central Park

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today
Dirty River Jazz Band to Return to Central Park

(Seguin) — Get ready to hear the sweet sounds of jazz music in Downtown Seguin. On Sunday, June 13th, the Dirty River Jazz Band returns to Seguin to perform in Central Park at 7:00 p.m. as part of Seguin Main Street’s Central Park Summer Concert Series.

Originally from Seguin, the first band members met at Texas Lutheran University where they studied music. Their very first performance was, you guessed it, in the gazebo in Central Park! Since their beginning, they have gone on to perform all across the United States at swing dance events, weddings, corporate events and more!

Managed by Drummer, Vocalist, and Arranger Chris Alvarado, the Dirty River Jazz Band’s sound closely emulates the Jim Cullum Jazz Band who served as their mentor. With most of their band members from the area, they are excited to return to their birthplace and put on a show to remember!
Making this night extra special is Seguin Main Street’s Annual Moonlight & Roses celebration happening in conjunction. Each year Moonlight & Roses features live jazz music, desserts and hors d’oeuvres, wine glasses and the Downtown Awards presentation.

Additionally, this year picnic baskets are for sale as a small fundraiser for the Main Street Program. The baskets will include a charcuterie board, two wineglass tumblers, chocolate covered strawberries and a rose. The baskets can be pre-ordered via Eventbrite at <https://moonlightandroses2021.eventbrite.com>.

So be sure to make plans to join the Seguin Main Street Program for a special concert and the downtown awards on Sunday, June 13th at 7:00 p.m. in Central Park! And mark your calendars for the rest of the concert series featuring County Line Band on June 20, Conjunto Cats on June 27 and the San Antonio Symphonic Band on July 4.

The concert series would not be possible without the support of the sponsors including: TRC, Anders Pierce Realty, Armstrong, Vaughan & Associates, Cavco Industries Inc, Kathy Nossaman – Edward Jones, Guadalupe County United Way, Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, First United Bank, Five Star Title, GVEC, Hampton Inn, Jack Walker CPA, PC, Seguin Beauty School, Southern Good, Thunderpaws Canine Solutions, Tri-County A/C & Heating, Dietz Flower Shop, and individuals who generously donate to support the Central Park Concert Series which is sponsored by the City of Seguin Main Street Program.
