(Marion) – What do you get when a racetrack pairs up with a helicopter company? The answer, you get the first ever Helicopter Easter Egg drop at Alamo City Motorplex in Marion. Kids are invited to look up into the skies and be a witness as 6,000 eggs drop in between the race lanes this Saturday.
Daniel Cleveland, the general manager for Alamo City Motorplex, says thanks in partnership with Alamo Helicopter Tours, kids of all ages will get to fill their baskets with dozens of fun filled eggs.
“We are going to hide 6,000 eggs and then the helicopter is going to drop 6,000 eggs so we are going to have a total of about 12,000 eggs. The city of Cibolo is going in with us to try to bring out the citizens and give them something to do and so the kids can have an Easter egg hunt. Like I said, we are going to have concessions, games and it’s going to be on the spectator side of the raceway,” said Cleveland.
Gates open at 1 p.m. Saturday with the helicopter egg drop slated for 3 p.m. All food, fun and games will continue until 5 p.m.
Cleveland says as soon as the egg hunt is over, then families are invited to stick around and enjoy the rumble of that night’s race.
“After the egg hunt, we are going to have an American Muscle Car Shootout Car Show and drag race later on that night, so I’d love to see everybody come out and visit with us at Alamo City Motorplex,” said Cleveland.
There is no cost to participate for the egg drop. Participants are asked to arrive and enter on the spectator side of the racetrack. Alamo City Motorplex is located off of Interstate 10 at 3641 S. Santa Clara Road. For car show and drag race tickets, visit ACMplex.com.
