Texas Lutheran to allow limited amount of spectators at most home outdoor athletics events

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today

(Seguin) – Beginning on Friday, March 26, Texas Lutheran University will allow a limited amount of spectators for most outdoor athletics events (excluding home track & field meets).

Spectators still are not permitted at TLU’s home indoor athletics events.

For the outdoor athletics events, the following protocols must be followed to ensure a manageable game day experience:

TLU and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference competitions remain closed to fans, families, and friends of the visiting team.

The adjusted spectator policy only allows for the attendance of students, family members, and friends of home team players at outdoor events.

Four spectators are allowed per student-athlete or coach. These four spectators are designated at the discretion of the student-athlete or coach and may not be changed after the final list has been submitted to TLU’s NCAA Compliance Coordinator. Only spectators (regardless of age) listed on the pass list will be allowed to enter the facility.

All spectators must wear a mask to enter the facility and are encouraged to sit with their own group and to socially distance from others. There will be no contact allowed between players and spectators. All spectators will be expected to exit the facility upon conclusion of the event.

Gates will open one hour prior to the game.

Spectators will check-in at the entrance gate, give the name they are listed under, and show a picture ID. Once it is confirmed the person is on the pass list, that person will receive a stamp on the hand for admission.

The spectator policy applies to both conference and non-conference competitions.

The spectator policy applies only to regular-season competitions. The possibility of spectator attendance at outdoor SCAC Championships will be announced at a later date.

No spectators will be allowed at TLU’s D3 Challenge (home track & field meet) on Saturday (March 27) due to the number of student-athletes that will be in attendance.
