County Judge encourages community to support Youth Show

(Seguin) — The Guadalupe County Commissioners Court is also giving a bit of a shout out to the upcoming Guadalupe County Youth Livestock and Homemakers Show. County Judge Kyle Kutscher mentioned the youth show during the close of the court’s meeting on Tuesday. Kutscher says he’s thrilled to hear the the youth show will not be a COVID-19 casualty, and he says it’s good news for the kids that will be presenting their projects this year.

“Still go out and support those youth exhibitors. It’s one organization that really supports families from all over the county. There’s definitely a lot of benefit there. Some of these kids have been working on projects for 10, 11, or 12 months. So go out and support them any way you can,” said Kutscher.

The youth show was essentially in limbo after the city of Seguin halted all use of city facilities for large gatherings. The Guadalupe County Fairgrounds is the normal venue for the youth show, but it’s also a facility owned by the city of Seguin.

Youth show board members met last week, and devised a plan that will allow the show to go on. Most of the projects will be shown at The Country Church in Marion. Swine projects will be moved to the La Vernia Chamber of Commerce grounds. And the popular youth show auction will be held at Rio Cibolo Ranch. The youth show will run January 19-23.
