(Seguin) — Don’t forget that today’s annual Buck Fever event has been cancelled. Today would have marked the start of the group’s annual two day event at
the Seguin Events Complex.
Buck Fever Committee Member Tammy Bargfrede, says cancelling the event was the hardest thing that the committee has ever been forced to do. She says it was especially hard as this year would have marked the group’s 35th anniversary.
“We decided to cancel due to the rising COVID cases in our area. We wanted to make sure our community is safe. We wanted to make sure we were all safe and we just decided that it was just the best thing to do for everyone,” said Bargfrede.
Now although the actual event was cancelled, the group is still moving forward by hosting its 30 Gun Raffle. Bargfrede says tickets must be purchased by noon Thursday.
“We have the 30 gun raffle and we had already been selling tickets for this in advance. So, we are still having that drawing on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. and we are going to be hosting that on Facebook Live on our Facebook page, the Buck Fever Event page so anyone who has purchased tickets can watch the drawing as it occurs,” said Bargfrede. “Thirty guns. Raffle tickets are $10 each, six for $50 and if you purchase $100 worth of tickets, then you get a bonus ticket for at a chance at a gun safe.”
Bargfrede says the raffle is the only fundraiser that will be hosted this year by the organization. She says any support thrown its way is appreciated as the group still looks to fund the various youth programs with whatever money is raised.
Tickets are available from any Buck Fever committee member or by calling Buck Fever Director Daniel Boenig at 830-305-4148.
