Helen Bierstedt Wolter

Helen Bierstedt Wolter of Staples was born on December 3, 1929 to Otto Bierstedt and Elsa Lehmann Bierstedt near San Marcos.

She passed away May 7, 2020, at the age of 90.

Helen lived in the Staples area from age five until her death.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Redwood, and later became a member of First Lutheran Church of San Marcos.

She served as secretary of the York Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Helen attended school in Staples and was active in 4-H, achieving the gold star award.

She enjoyed gardening and caring for her animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elwin, and son, Aaron.

She is survived by her son Nilon, his wife Debbie and their son Kelton of Staples; daughter, Karen, her husband Jeff and their children, Jason Harrison and wife Stephanie, Kimberly Harrison, Scott Snyder and wife Jennifer of Seguin and Sterling Snyder and wife Kerri of Selma, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00PM on October 24th at Pennington Funeral Home in San Marcos.

Burial will be at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park at a later date.
