Officers uncover drugs following high speed chase

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today

Patrick Ford

(Guadalupe County) — Details are now being released about a man who led officers on a 60-mile pursuit through three counties and who is now behind bars in lieu of bonds totaling $195,000.

Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Officials say the arrest was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. Friday on Interstate 10. They say the chase all started when a highway investigator officer with the Guadalupe Narcotics Task Force attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a red 2016 Toyota Scion for a traffic violation.

That’s when the driver of the vehicle, Patrick Ford, reportedly refused to stop and led officers on the chase. Beginning in Guadalupe County, Ford made his way, traveling through both Wilson and Gonzales Counties. During the course of the pursuit, officers say Ford was seen throwing out multiple packages containing marijuana, THC Extract style products and various other designer illegal narcotic drugs.

Upon stopping his vehicle, Ford then allegedly fled on foot in Gonzales County. He was later captured following a brief foot chase. Units from Texas Highway Patrol, the La Vernia Police Department and the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office all assisted in the capture of Ford.

The 30 year-old was arrested and was charged with possession of eight counts of drug possession along with evading arrest with a motor vehicle, evading arrest for detention and for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

The Guadalupe County Narcotics Task Force is comprised of Seguin PD Special Crimes Detectives, Seguin PD K-9 units, Cibolo PD Narcotics Detectives and Narcotics investigators from the sheriff’s office.
