Dentists Treating ‘Mask Mouth’ With Bad Breath

(Undated)  —  It seems masking up is coming with a side effect of bad breath.  Dentists say they’re treating a new set of symptoms like decaying teeth, receding gum lines and seriously sour breath.  They’ve dubbed it “mask mouth.” Patients who’ve never had cavities are getting them for the first time.  That’s because breathing through the mouth with a mask on increases the dryness and buildup of bad bacteria.  The solution? Dentists say to breathe through your nose.
