(Guadalupe County) — A McQueeney man is out on bond after being arrested and charged with the sexual assault of a child. Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Investigators say Austin Oliver Lang, 24, was arrested on Friday after their investigation revealed that there was a probable cause to suspect an assault on a 15 year-old child here in the county.
They say Lang bonded out the same day he was arrested. He was being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
Investigators, however, say they have continuing concerns for Lang as he is a previously convicted sex offender from Kansas. Due to that conviction, Lang is required to register as a sex offender here in Guadalupe County. This recent arrest they say demonstrates that Lang continues to re-offend despite his requirement to register as a sex offender.
In the most recent case, Lang contacted his victim through the application Snap Chat and has access to other social media sites as well.
Sheriff’s Investigators say they are also concerned that there is a possibility that Lang has other victims who have not yet reported their assault. The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who is a victim or has information about any other victims of Austin Oliver Lang to contact the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office.
They are asked to contact Investigator Robert Shockley at 830-379-1224 ext. 2268 or Robert.Shockley@co.guadalupe.tx.us.
As always, anyone who has information regarding this investigation and wishes to remain anonymous, is asked to contact the Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers at 877-403-TIPS (8477). They can also submit a tip online at ww.gccsTIPS.com or via the P3 Tips App.
