Houston area man allegedly kills wife and child then turns gun on himself in Guadalupe County

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today

(Guadalupe County) –The bodies of a man’s wife and his young son were found dead in a home in Sugar Land. The bodies were found after the man was found dead here in Guadalupe County. The man, identified as 53-year old Richard Logan, is believed to have committed suicide Tuesday in northern Guadalupe County.

Logan is a former youth and missions pastor from Sugar Land. He reportedly died of a single gun shot wound near TAS Environmental in the San Marcos area.

Authorities say the woman and child’s bodies were discovered after Guadalupe County officials contacted the Sugar Land Police in an effort to notify the family of Richard Logan’s death.

Sugar Land police officials say no one answered the door when police arrived, so a family friend with a key let them in. That’s when officers found the bodies of Diana Logan and their 11-year-old son, whose name was not released.

Richard Logan was reportedly the founder of a non-profit group called Attack Poverty, and also served as the former pastor of River Pointe Church in Richmond.

The couple also reportedly has a daughter, who was away at college.

The double murder-suicide case remains under investigation.
