(Seguin) — Get ready to experience a taste of Hollywood both on and off the screen this coming Wednesday at Hometown Cinemas King Ranger Theater. A special showing of the hit 80’s movie, The Breakfast Club, plus a Q&A with special guest Actor Anthony Michael Hall will be offered to fans.
Keith Hester, director of operations for Hometown Cinemas, says the local theater is excited about welcoming Hall to Seguin. In addition to his role as the brainy Brian in Breakfast Club, Hall is synonymous with plenty of other 80s favorites including the coming-of-age comedy Sixteen Candles, Weird Science and National Lampoon’s Vacation. Other movies or TV shows that followed his series of teen oriented films included Edward Scissorhands, Out of Bounds, Johnny Be Good and the USA Network’s series The Dead Zone.
Hester says honestly, he chose The Breakfast Club for this special movie experience because he felt it would bring back plenty of different memories for those in the audience. He says we all can remember back to watching these five high school students from all different walks of life enduring that one Saturday together in detention.
“We chose Breakfast Club. We thought that that would be a good draw for the community and appealed to the most people and then after the movie, Anthony Michael Hall is going to be there and is going to do a Q&A and depending on — there’s different tiers of tickets that you can purchase — depending on which level you buy, everybody gets to do the Q&A after the movie and then, he’s also doing autographs, pictures with people and t-shirts and so we are pretty excited about this. This is something new for us as a company to do — to have a Q&A with an actor at our location and obviously, the first time that this has been done in Seguin and we are hoping to be able to continue to do it,” said Hester.
Hester says he encourages movie goers to buy their tickets as soon as possible. He says only about 150 seats will be available.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity probably for a lot of people to be able to sit in a room with a major actor that is well known and be able to ask questions and be able to get a picture and interact with them. Celebrities are well known but it’s always exciting when you can get in the same room or just see a celebrity is exciting and so to be able to actually converse with them and have their attention is kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Hester.
Guests will have three ticket options to watch the movie. Level One is $49 and includes one movie ticket plus participation in the Q&A (question and answer session). Level Two is $74 a person and includes the movie ticket, Q&A and an autograph. Level Three is $99 and includes a ticket, Q&A, autograph, a picture and a t-shirt.
The showing of The Breakfast Club with special guest Anthony Michael Hall will get underway at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at King Ranger. Tickets can be purchased at the theatre or online at hometowncinemas.com.
