Shooting suspect apprehended by Seguin Police
(Seguin) — After searching all weekend, Seguin Police have arrested the man who they say shot another man outside a home Saturday night. Seguin Police Chief Terry Nichols says Michael Anthony Cook, 26, of Seguin was arrested Monday afternoon for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Cook was taken into custody without incident at a residence located in the 500 block of E. Rosemary Street.
Detectives say at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, they believe Cook was involved in a disturbance with a 31 year old man in the 600 block of Melrose Street near Texas Lutheran University.  Reports indicate the men were arguing over a woman. They say Cook reportedly fired a shot striking the man in the chest before fleeing the scene prior to police arrival.  The victim was transported to a San Antonio area hospital by Seguin Fire/EMS and was listed in stable condition. Cook has been booked into the Guadalupe County Jail and is being held on a $200,000 bond.
Police say investigation into this case continues.  Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call the Police Department at (830) 379-2123 or the Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers at 877-403-TIPS (8477).
