(Schertz) — The Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD (SCUC ISD) Board of Trustees has hired Dr. Clark C. Ealy, by unanimous vote, to become superintendent of schools. The action was taken on Tuesday.
Dr. Ealy was selected as lone finalist for the position in December after an exhaustive search that included community and staff input. He will replace Dr. Greg Gibson, who is retiring after ten fruitful years of service to SCUC ISD.
“We as a board are confident that Dr. Ealy is the best fit to be the next leader of SCUC,” said Amy Driesbach, president of the SCUC ISD Board of Trustees. “He comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience to lead a fast-growth district. Dr. Ealy has a shared vision of continuing to make SCUC a destination district that is committed to excellence.”
Dr. Ealy has served as Superintendent of Schools for the College Station Independent School District (CSISD) since June of 2014. Ealy came to CSISD in 2000, having previously worked as a campus administrator and teacher/coach in districts in the Houston and Dallas areas. In his 20 years in CSISD, Ealy served in various capacities including Deputy Superintendent of Administrative Services.
“I am honored that the board of trustees of Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD has granted me this opportunity to join the leadership team of this remarkable district,” said Ealy. “The culture and direction that this school board and Dr. Gibson have set have not only led to student success, but also SCUC becoming a destination district for teachers and school leaders. I am looking forward to working with our tremendous district and campus leaders to build upon these successes.”
Dr. Ealy has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University, a Master of Education from Texas A&M-Commerce, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University.
Dr. Ealy and his wife, Connie, have four children: Carole Anne, Robin, Jack and Maggie. All four graduated from A&M Consolidated High School and attend or have attended Texas A&M University.
