(Seguin) — As classes resume and faculty and staff prepare for the fall semester, TLU is a bit busier this year with the largest incoming class ever now on campus. At more than 420 first-year students, the Class of 2023 is the largest, most diverse group the university has ever seen with 60 percent of students identifying as non-white.
The Office of Admissions and Marketing also received a record number 3,000 applications and admitted more Hispanic, African-American, and mixed-race students than white students for the first time ever. Of the 3,000 admissions applications received for Fall 2019, 53 percent were submitted by students who identified as Hispanic. The university also continues to see an increase in first-generation applicants.
