School bell rings for the Marion ISD

School bell rings for the Marion ISD

The Marion ISD faculty/staff are ready for new school year.

(Marion) — While the Marion ISD celebrates the success of last year, today they begin to look forward to the new year. Superintendent Kelly Lindholm says today marks the first day of school for students in the Marion ISD. Lindholm says she’s excited about welcoming students today, and she reminds parents and the community about all the great things that will be happening. In particular, she wants to remind the community about all the new voter approved construction that will soon be in the works.

“I guess I would call it a challenge for this year — it’s a good challenge. It’s the fact that we will are going to be starting construction on two of our campuses and so during the course of this year, probably the biggest message I have for parents is to be patient and understanding because as we start the processes, it is going to call for some changes as far as things like drop off and pick up lines. It’s a temporary inconvenience for a long term gain but we know that sometimes during the course of this year, we are going to have to put that information to our parents and make them aware of some of the physical changes that are going to be going on on our campuses because of the increased growth and knowing that we are going to be starting these construction projects to get new classrooms in place as soon as possible because we are indeed growing and our numbers are increasing,” said Lindholm.

The bell schedule for Marion Elementary runs from 7:40 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for both Marion middle school and high school.
