Alene Hensel, 66, of San Antonio, died Sunday, May 19, 2019. She was born September 15, 1952 in Seguin, to Wilma Amalia (Ermel) and Alfred Adolf Gustar Hensel. Alene was an avid reader and enjoyed embroidery, sewing, crochet and needlepoint. She was a long-time member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in San Antonio.
She is survived by her sister in law, Delia J. Hensel; nieces, Marie and Melody Hensel and Michelle Rios; nephew, Wilfred Rick Hensel Jr. as well as a host of other great nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Wilfred Rick Hensel Sr. A memorial service for Alene will be from 9:30 am -10:30 am Friday June 14, 2019 at Goetz Memorial Chapel 713 N. Austin St in Seguin. Interment of her cremated body will follow at Eden Cemetery in Seguin. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Goetz Funeral Home. www.goetzfuneralhome.com.
