(Seguin) — Whether it’s a new lawnmower, handbag or kids clothes, more and more people are using things like Facebook Marketplace, Craiglists or the KWED Trading Post to purchase gently used or unwanted items. It’s a great way to find bargains or to get rid of those items that you no longer need.
The popularity of these sales and purchases has created another problem — how to safely make the exchange. The Seguin Police Department is now offering a solution that will see to it that the transaction is safe for both buyer and seller.
It’s called the MeetUp Spot.
Seguin Police officials say when you’ve chatted and agreed with a buyer on a price, it’s often times hard to choose a good place and time to meet. In the past, they’ve always suggested that you meet in a public location that’s convenient for both of you and that the location is well lit.
To further help citizens make a deal, the Seguin Police Department has created a Community MeetUp Spot in its lobby.
The Seguin PD lobby is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Officials say there is no better place that is convenient and that is always under surveillance.
The Seguin Police Department is located at 350 N. Guadalupe St.
