(Seguin) — A local bank is inviting you to “Spend Life Wisely.” First United Bank is looking to showcase its new remodeled look and banking center during tonight’s open house event at its downtown location. Seguin Radio KWED has been invited to be part of the process, and will be broadcasting live from the event starting at 4:30 Thursday afternoon.
Community Bank President Natalie Jones says First United has scheduled a full night of food, festivities and prizes celebrating it’s unique banking experience. That experience promotes the values-based organization’s efforts to help people live by a lifestyle it calls “Spend Life Wisely.” Jones says the concept is centered around four pillars all designed to improve a person’s life.
“The whole purpose of the open house is to just reestablish who we are as a bank and who we are in the community and really talk about the things that make us different — the fact that we are a faith based bank which is very unique in corporate America, the fact that we don’t just focus on financial growth. We want to help you grow as an individual and we really want to help our community grow. As the individuals within our community grow, then our community itself becomes better so we want to help people grow both in their health, their financials, their faith, their personal development. We are really looking to help people develop holistically,” said Jones.
Jones says events will be hosted in the bank’s new Spend Life Wisely lobby — a lobby creatively designed as a learning lounge for financial health. Jones says the open house is simply to showcase all that First United has to offer.
“We’ve added a new dynamic to banking and that is for it to feel more like just a community center. We have an open community room that anybody in the community can rent at anytime for free and we are trying to bring back people to banks where a lot of banks are going away from brick and mortar, we are trying to invest in it. We believe that great relationships can be made around the banking world and if you think about years and years and years ago, that’s where your communities met is at the bank and that the post offices so that’s what we are trying to do is we are trying to bring people back in. We have pictures that show our heritage of where we came from and the years that we’ve been downtown and yet, we have the new coffee bar and the media center and interactive banking that is going to help with the new needs of today’s generations,” said Jones.
During the open house, attendees will get to enjoy a variety of free food and activities. Jones says raffle prizes tonight include but are not limited to a $500 Gold Bar and CD; a one year membership to GRMC’s Wellness Center and an Apple iPad Pro.
“We are going to be doing tours of the bank and with taking a tour, you’ll get a raffle ticket to enter in for some of our amazing prizes and then we are going to have a live band. We have food and drinks for everyone. We have plenty of food and drinks so come out, eat dinner, visit with friends, bring family. We have kids events that will be going on and some interactive picture mosaics — all kinds of fun things that are set up for the community to participate in in addition to eating and drinking and taking tours,” said Jones.
The open house will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today at the bank located at 200 N. Austin St. Events will officially get underway with a special ribbon cutting by the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce.
