Maxine Hilda (Volkmann) Penshorn, age 78, of La Vernia, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 in Seguin. Maxine was born on December 4, 1940, in Seguin, to Alvin Eddie and Hattie Frieda (Baenziger) Volkmann. Her parents, brother, Alvin P. Volkmann and grandson, Joshua Roseland, precede her in death. Maxine is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jimmie Penshorn; daughters, Karen Leinweber (Mark), and Laurie Guerrero; sons, Darryl Penshorn (Rebe), Brian Penshorn (Charmin) and Todd Penshorn (Glori); 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Jane Pakebusch and Kathy Volkmann. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia. The funeral is set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia. The Reverend Dr. Robert M. Palan will officiate at the service. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, La Vernia.
