Stolen vehicles recovered at area home thanks to Crime Stoppers tip

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today

(Marion) – The search is now on for a man believed to have stolen several vehicles – vehicles that were successfully recovered thanks to an anonymous tip made to the Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers Program.

Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Investigators say the initial tip led deputies on Monday to the recovery of multiple stolen vehicles from two residences located in the 1100 block of Valeria Drive in Marion.

They say in this case, the anonymous tipster provided accurate information regarding the location of a stolen RV and Chevrolet Impala parked in one of the driveways.

After investigators confirmed the initial tip of the vehicles presence at the property, a search warrant was obtained. Upon serving the search warrant, one of the vehicles, a 2019 Chevrolet Impala, was confirmed to be recently stolen from Enterprise Rentals in Schertz. Another vehicle, a 2001 Ford E-450 Majesty Motorhome, was also confirmed to be stolen from a storage lot in western Bexar County. Investigators say while looking into this case, another stolen vehicle was located up the street. That vehicle was a 2004 GMC Yukon reported stolen a week prior in Lytle. While there is no direct link, investigators says the location and timing to the other vehicles likely means that they are related to the same course of conduct.

The investigation revealed that the suspect in possession of the stolen vehicles is 29-year-old Edward Ray Goodman. The residents at 1142 Valeria told investigators that they allowed Goodman to live in the RV at that address because they believed they were helping him get back on his feet. They did not know that the RV and Impala were stolen. Goodman was not on scene when the stolen vehicles were recovered, so he couldn’t be interviewed about being in possession of stolen property.

Goodman has outstanding warrants in Guadalupe County for evading arrest and in Comal County for driving while license invalid. Goodman is described as a white male about 6’01” with brown hair, blue eyes and weighing about 150 pounds.

Officials with the The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office would like to highlight the successful behind this anonymous tip called into the Guadalupe County Crime Stopper’s Program.

They say with Goodman now a wanted suspect on multiple warrants, accurate information on his whereabouts made anonymously to the Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers could also possibly result in a reward for the tipster.

Those with information on his Goodman’s whereabouts can be made to the Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers at 877-403-TIPS (8477).
