What is your current occupation (or where do you attend school), and what

does that involve?
“Residential Realtor GRI with Anders Pierce Realty, helping people buy and
sell land and homes.”

“Alice Eugene Vaughan Bernhard 1879-1960”
 
What do you do off the clock “Just for fun?”
“Explore this beautiful part of Texas we now call home, travel, visit our
sons, read, act in plays and films when I can, work on our home”
 
What city and state were you born in?
“El Paso, Texas”
 
Who are the members of your immediate family?
“Husband, Wayne; three sons, William, John and Benjamin”
 
What is the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced?
“Helping my sweet parents through terminal illnesses and having to face and
deal with my son’s very serious health issues. (He is fully recovered and
perfect!) Moving from my life-long home, birth place and large family home
to Wayne’s grandma’s 1600 sf, 127 year old ‘True Women’ home was well, at
age 52, that was challenging to say the very least. We have our own home
now and it is fabulous.”
 
What is your favorite TV show and movie?
“Too many to say just one, I really love the HBO and Netflix series, and
comedies like Modern Family and The Middle.”
 
What type of music do you enjoy (favorite band, song, etc…)?
“Anything from the ’40’s through the ’70’s.”
 
What is your favorite Seguin business and restaurant?
“Favorite business is The Windle Team at Anders Pierce Realty. Restaurant,
several, including Tavern on the Creek, Chop House, The Power Plant, JJ’s,
El Ranchito and The Court Street Coffee Shop”
 
What is something folks may not really know about you?
“I gave my mother CPR and saved her life.”
 
If you could assemble a dinner party with any five guests (living or dead)
excluding immediate living family members – who would they be?
“My five best friends, we raised our children together through “Playgroup”,
Mary Vickers, Molly Abdou, Amy Hussmann, Tricia Kemp and Cheryl
Salcido-Ginnings, there will be laughing!”
 
What do you find significant about the person you will be portraying during
the annual Cemetery Tour scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 29?
“She was the Society Editor for the Seguin Enterprise for 50 years. She was
known as “Mother of PTA” for organizing the first high school PTA, she was
also a member of the Seguin Independent School Board for 22 years.”
 
What are your roles in the community?
“I am a member of the Four Rivers Board of Realtors, The Texas Association
of Realtors, The National Association of Realtors, a Board Member/Secretary
of the Seguin Conservation Society, Member of the Seguin Area Chamber of
Commerce, Board Member of the Seguin Area Youth Leadership Academy,
Shakespeare Club, a member of the Moon-McGehee Chapter of the Daughters of
the Texas Revolution, and I am an actress in Community Theater.”
Discuss your professional background/achievements/leadership roles.
“I was blessed to be a stay at home mother for 19 years, the best job I
ever had. Earned a Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of
Texas-El Paso and an Associate Degree in Interior Design from El Paso
Community College. We owned a fitness store that had whole body vibration
machines and infrared saunas for two years before we moved to Seguin. We
helped many people with health issues get better. I have been a Realtor
since 2008, which is the second best job I have ever had.”
 
What are this proudest moments in your personal life or in your career?
“Proudest of my three sons, oh my goodness, they are wonderful!”
 
What do you believe are the strengths of this community?
“The natural beauty, the smart, sophisticated, educated people who choose
to live here. We are so close to Austin and San Antonio, so we can go
there when we want, but we ‘get’ to come home to Seguin!”
 
What do you find as the most interesting thing about Seguin?
“The history, how everyone knows each other, the architecture, how welcome
we have felt, how easy it has been to make friends and how quickly I fell
in love with Seguin.”
 
What are your future plans?
“Explore our area as much as possible, travel, sell many homes, ranches and
farms, and help make Seguin sparkle.”
 
What message do you have for the residents of Seguin?
“Mow your yard, paint your house, get involved, vote, help your neighbors,
help your child’s teacher, go to plays, grow this town sweetly and
beautifully.”
