(Guadalupe County) – A man is dead following an officer involved shooting early Tuesday morning in the 900 block of Stagecoach Road off of FM 725.
Guadalupe County Sheriff Arnold Zwicke says the incident began at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday when officers responded to the home for a disturbance.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found a male and female, in their 40s, in the yard fighting. During that time, Zwicke says the male produced a gun and shot the female. Two deputies then responded by firing and killing the male.
The woman was airlifted to a Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio and is in stable condition. Sheriff Zwicke says his deputies actions helped to “save the woman’s life.”
As with any officer-involved shooting, the case has been turned over to the Texas Rangers for further investigation.
