Seguin ISD encourages families, staff to respond to travel survey

(Seguin) — The Seguin ISD says it’s doing all that it can to address its future during these next few weeks. In doing so, Superintendent Dr. Matthew Gutierrez on Monday afternoon, shared information about an online survey that he announced in a letter to the community. He says that survey, which was created and implemented by his administration team, has already shed plenty of good information specific to the district.

“We are surveying our families and our staff and that survey went out late (Monday) afternoon and as of just a few minutes ago (Monday night), we’ve already received over 220 responses. We also have to keep in mind that we have families and staff members who have traveled to over 20 states and over seven different countries so on top of conversations that are happening with local and state agencies, we are also looking at data that is coming  from the individuals that we serve and we have to really look closely at everything that comes our way in order to make a decision,” said Gutierrez.

The survey is for those who have traveled outside a 150-mile radius from Seguin since March 6. The numbers he mentioned are obviously much higher today as those survey results continue to come in.

Again, the Seguin ISD is still asking that staff and students self-report or respond to the survey that’s now available on the district’s website.  He says all this data unique to the Seguin ISD will continue to be collected as the district looks beyond the April 6 date. The district on Tuesday announced that it would be extending its closure into April.
