(Seguin) — Tickets are now sale for the 35th Annual Noche De Gala Mariachi Singers, Vocalista Showcase. The event is scheduled for Saturday at Texas Lutheran University’s Jackson Auditorium. Alberto “Beto” Rincon, program coordinator for Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin, says in celebration of its anniversary, this year’s format will be a showcase piece highlighting past winners of the mariachi singing competition and area mariachi bands He says in recent years, Teatro has gone back and forth by offering up the traditional singing competition and or this showcase format.
Rincon says this year, the event is set to “dazzle you” with musical performances featuring the sounds of Mariachi Las Alteñas and Mariachi Azteca de América. The event will also showcase vocalista winners Alexander Ramirez, Brooke Talk, Deborah Ramirez and Alfredo Mendez.
This year, the group is also excited to announce a community collaboration performance with the Texas Lutheran University Choir, TLU Community Music Academy Choirs and the Adult Ballet Folklorico De La Rosa for a special rendition of Cielito Lindo.
General admission tickets are $10 both pre-sale and at the door. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Davila’s BBQ, Superior Cakes & Bakery; the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce and at the Teatro De Artes de Juan Seguin Cultural Center. Reserved seats are also available and can only be obtained today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Teatro building located at 921 W. New Braunfels St.
