Valentine’s Day right around the corner. And it being one of the more popular dates for engagement proposals, Seguin Main Street wanted to remind the happy couples about the opportunities to have their wedding ceremonies and receptions in downtown Seguin.
If the couple is looking for an outdoor wedding venue, couples can rent the bandstand in Central Park to say their “I do’s.” Surrounded by the historic buildings of downtown offers brides beautiful backdrops for their photos. Walnut Springs Park and the Memorial Rose Garden are also available for rental for weddings. Couples will also find the historic churches within and surrounding downtown as great venues for their wedding ceremonies. For small intimate weddings, the First Church located in Heritage Village is a step back in time with wooden pews and hardwood floors. Other churches in the downtown vicinity include St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, St. James Catholic Church, Emanuel’s Lutheran Church and First United Methodist Church.
After the wedding ceremony, hold your reception just a few blocks away in one of downtown’s event venues. The Texas Theatre, opened in 1931 at 425 North Austin Street, includes the original theater section, lobby and reception area. The theater includes a stage, round tables and sound system. Built in 1916, the Aumont’s Rose Ballroom is another wonderful venue to host your wedding reception. The hotel also has a full bar and a small menu to consider for your reception. Outside caterers are also allowed. To reserve the Rose Ballroom call (830) 299-7970.
The newest venue to downtown is Soel Venue located at 112 West Donegan. The venue is located in part of the former Vivroux Hardware Store and offers round tables, two bars, hardwood floors and exposed rafters. To book Soel Venue call (830) 660-2433.
