Seguin’s Martinez to play basketball at Arlington Baptist

(Seguin) – Seguin High School senior Christian Martinez signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Arlington Baptist University on Monday.

Martinez, a 5’11” point guard, was a three-year varsity player for coach Dwayne Gerlich’s Matadors and earned Second Team All-District accolades in 2018 after averaging 10 points, two assists, and two rebounds per game while hitting 38 percent of field goal attempts and 80 percent of his free throws. .

As a junior in 2017, Martinez helped Seguin advance through the 5A bi-district playoffs and into the area round for the first time since 2005.

Arlington Baptist University, located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, competes in the National Christian College Athletic Association.
