(Marble Falls) – The Seguin High School baseball scored all four of its runs in the top of the seventh inning Tuesday night to snap a three-game losing streak in District 26-5A with a 4-1 road victory at Marble Falls.
The Matadors, no longer in playoff contention, improved to 4-8 in district play, 7-16 overall, and completed a two-game head-to-head sweep of the Mustangs.
Cody Kachmar earned the win on the mound after six strong innings. He allowed a single unearned run on just two hits with nine strikeouts and four walks. Mason Mondin picked up the save, working around a walk to strike out two in a scoreless ninth.
Marcos Villamil and Robert McCall each went 2-3 and scored once. Joseph DelaCruz and Juan Rodriguez each recorded a base hit and a run scored, and DelaCruz drove in two runs.
Seguin plays its final home game of the season at ‘Smokey’ Joe Williams Field on Friday, hosting Kerrville-Tivy at 7 p.m.
