(Seguin) -- Laura Flack can officially call Ball Early Childhood Center her new home. Flack, who has served as interim principal for the pre-k campus was named as the permanent school principal during Tuesday's meeting of the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees.
The appointment comes after nearly two months of leading the campus. Flack, who originally served as an assistant principal at Koennecke Elementary, was part of the administrative changes made by Superintendent Matthew Gutierrez in September.
Flack replaced former Principal Soledad Ramirez. Dr. Ramirez was relocated to Seguin High School as an assistant principal.
Flack, who was surrounded by supporters from both Koennecke and Ball ECC, thanked the district for the opportunity to continue her work at the pre-k campus. She says being at Ball has been a wonderful experience.
"I've learned so much about those kids. I've learned that the teachers are unyieldingly positive. They just want to be there like you would not believe. When I walked in that campus, the teachers were -- they're just so happy and they love those kids. Every day when those kids come in, they welcome them with open arms and I'm just really glad to be part of that. That was the first thing I learned and then after that, I learned that I don't ever get to sit down. I better keep those little hands busy and moving all the time. We've done a lot of things with that. I'm excited about it," said Flack.
Ball ECC serves as the prekindergarten program for the district's three and four-year-old students.
