(Seguin) -- Normalcy has for the most part returned today for Seguin High School band students, directors and their chaperones as they make the return back to the classroom and to the workplace.

The band on Friday confirmed the safe and sound return of each of the 154 people who made the Spring Break trip last week to New York for the once in a lifetime performance at Carnegie Hall.

Tammy Bargfrede, band booster trip coordinator, says the safe return of each child first and foremost is all thanks to the adult chaperones who made the commitment to volunteer.

"First of all, I'd have to say that we were blessed to have so many adult chaperones -- parents who were willing to spend the money themselves to make that trip and were absolutely a blessing to the program to be able to be there to take care of the kids. Without the chaperones, it would have been much more difficult. We had over 30 chaperones in assisting the kids in where they needed to be especially getting on and off the subway," said Bargfrede.

Bargfrede says everyone is grateful to be back home and says the snow storm that kept the group stranded for a few extra days did little to tarnish a great experience.

"Everyone was excited when they could smell Texas air but as far as the delay goes, that all went so smoothly for us. We moved from a New York City hotel into a New Jersey hotel which was extremely accommodating to us especially being a last minute booking for a 154 people and it was really almost -- I don't want to call it a blessing but it was really nice to have that chill time following the New York experience and the concert and the fact that it had snowed and so many of our students had never seen snow and they were able to go out and play in the snow and have some time to just hang out together and we weren't herding them around to one event to another. It was just more of some chill time but it was definitely good to get those flights home," said Bargfrede.

The students began the journey home on Thursday with more of the chaperones returning back on Friday. The students made the trip to the Big Apple thanks to an invitation to perform in the prestigious Carnegie Hall.
