(Seguin) -- If you don't want to chance any long lines this coming Tuesday, then today is the last day to cast your ballots early in the March 1 Republican and Democratic Primary Elections.
Elections Administrator Lisa Adam says the presidential race no doubt is bringing more people to the polls. She says in the end, that might just mean a busy day at the polls.
"The early voting process thus far has gone very smoothly. We have been very happy that the voters have taken advantage of the early voting process. We would like to see more of them take advantage so we're hoping that they'll take advantage of the last day of early voting to come out and cast their ballot ahead of time so that they don't have to worry about standing in long lines on March 1, election day," said Adam.
Adam says whether you vote today or on Tuesday, individuals are encouraged to access their sample ballots early so that they can have their voices heard.
"Also a good idea, if people pull the sample ballots off of our website -- either the static sample ballot that we have or the express pass, because what we're seeing is that people are frequently surprised by what's on their ballot. So I think coming in prepared is definitely a good idea. I think it helps the voter feel more confident in what they're doing on election day," said Adam.
Early voting convenience allows individuals to cast their ballots at anyone of the designated locations throughout the county.
Early voting locations include the Seguin and Schertz Elections Offices; Grace Memorial Church at 3240 FM 725; the Central Texas Technology Center at 2189 FM 758 and New Berlin City Hall. Early voting polls will be open today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
