SHS Band Alumni to join Matador Band for 100th anniversary celebration during Friday night's football game

These students are believed to be the first members of the Seguin High School Band in 1918-1919. The Matador Band this Friday looks to celebrate its 100 year anniversary with a special celebration which includes former band students. The group will share the field during a special half-time performance. Courtesy photo.
 
(Seguin) -- Get ready to hit the field as the Seguin High School Matador Band celebrates 100 years of making music. Joining the band for the Friday night celebration are over 150 former band members -- members who over the course of the last century donned on an uniform and helped cheer teams to victory.

Matador Band nominated for national award

(Seguin) --  The Seguin High School Matador Band has been nominated for the 2018 National High School Heart of the Arts Award sponsored by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). Seguin High School was nominated for the award by the University Interscholastic League (UIL).
