Shoe Drive
The City of Seguin Animal Services is conducting a Shoe Drive to raise funds for shelter animals during April and May at 555 Fred Byrd Dr. in Seguin. Library Bookface Challenge
The Seguin Public Library will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of National Library Week by participating in the Bookface Challenge. Bookface involves strategically lining up your face or body alongside a book cover that features a matching body part so that there appears to be a melding of life and art. Annual BBQ COOKOFF
An International Barbeque Cookers Association sanctioned Annual BBQ Cook-Off will be held with judging beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14 at the Geronimo VFW Post 8456 located at 6808 N. Spring Clean-Up Day
The City of Seguin will have its Spring Clean-Up Day for Seguin residents within the city limits from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 14 at the Seguin Events Complex (Coliseum) parking lot. Proof of residency is required. Accepted items include: junk disposal, scrap metal, appliances without Freon, automobile times no larger than 19.5, and paper shredding. Items that will not be accepted include: hazardous material or chemicals, brush/limbs, fences, shed, construction materials, appliances with Freon, tractor, mover, bike or ATV tires, and no tires from local businesses.

AARP Tax Aide Program
The AARP Tax Aide Program will provide free electronic filing (E-File) of Federal Income Tax Returns for the elderly, low and medium income from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays until Saturday, April 14 at the Seguin Public Library (2nd floor) located at 313 W. Nolte St. in Seguin. Participants should bring identification and all documents related to filing tax returns. Taxes can not be filed without proper documents.

TLU VITA Tax Return Clinic TLU and the Business department will provide free tax return preparation assistance through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. Premarital Education
The South Texas Pregnancy Care Center and Twogether in Texas Benefits will offer an eight-hour premarital education class, "Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at the GVEC Community Room located at 1400 W.
