Downtown Seguin open late for Third Thursdays

(Seguin) -- With the holidays approaching downtown businesses wanted to give their customers more opportunities to get their shopping done with the return of Third Thursdays.  People who have a hard time making it to downtown to shop during the week will get their chance to make it downtown as several downtown merchants will stay open late the third Thursday of the month.

Seguin Education Foundation awards nearly $65K in educational grants

(Seguin) -- It was a Tuesday morning full of surprises for Seguin ISD teachers as many of them were awarded "golden opportunities" for their students. Just under $65,000 in education grants were awarded to teachers throughout the Seguin ISD. The grants are made possible each year thanks to the Seguin Education Foundation.

County judge announces plans to seek reelection

(Seguin) -- Guadalupe County Judge Kyle Kutscher wants to secure a spot on the ballot as he seeks another term in office. Kutscher is in the process of filing for re-election for the March 2018 Republican Primary. Kutscher says he wants to continue his work on the commissioners court and looks forward to meeting the needs of the county's future.

Gas pump skimmers found in Seguin; Seguin PD shares tips to avoid being a victim of identity theft

(Seguin) -- Be sure to not fall victim the next time you fill up at the gas pump. That's the latest message from the Seguin Police Department. Officer Carlos Contreras, the public information officer for the Seguin PD, says a couple of internal credit card skimmers were recently reported at two different gas station locations here in Seguin.

(Hunstsville) – Sam Houston State’s All-American defensive end P.J. Hall, a former Seguin High School standout, broke the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision career record for tackles-for-loss Saturday with his 81st TFL in the Bearkats’ 44-35 road win over Abilene Christian.

Texas Lutheran M/W Cross Country squads close out 2017 seasons at NCAA regional meet

(Newport News, Va.) – The Texas Lutheran Men and Women's Cross Country teams closed their seasons with respective 24th and 16th-place finishes at the 2017 NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships in Newport News, Va.
