(Seguin) -- A developer looking to use tax credits to help fund construction of a large affordable housing apartment complex, near TLU, will soon be able to move forward with the project. The majority of the Seguin City Council voted on Tuesday not to formally oppose the Pecan Grove Apartment project, to be built on West Court Street across from Texas Lutheran University. The complex would have almost 200 units, and it would require residents to meet a specific set of criteria, including some restrictions on income levels, they would have to pass a criminal background check, and they would have to be full-time employees.

Group in search of thousands of pinwheels for annual observance
Posted on 3/5/2019 9:14:00 AM.
(Seguin) -- The Guadalupe County Children's Advocacy Center is on the hunt for thousands of pinwheels.  Christy Williams, the executive director of the children's advocacy center, says the pinwheels are needed as part of the non-profit group's annual effort to illustrate the number of abused and neglected children that have been served by the center over the last year. Williams says each year, 14 lawns throughout Guadalupe County are planted with the colorful swirling pinwheels -- each representing a child served. The pinwheels are displayed at various corners around the county to help illustrate this rising number of abused children.
