(Seguin) -- The 2018 Christmas Season has kicked off with a slate of holiday winners. The winners were named following this year's parade and lighting of Central Park in downtown Seguin.

Seguin ISD to offer Pre-K for All; Pilot program starts soon at Patlan Elementary School

(Seguin) -- Seguin ISD has rolled out a new pre-kindergarten program to offer four-year-olds an educational boost prior to kindergarten. The pilot program, dubbed Pre-K for All, will open its doors Jan. 9 at Patlan Elementary School.

Navarro High School student places among the world's elite at global food competition

(Seguin) -- World competition was apparently no match for Seguin's youngest pit master who recently returned home with top honors. Ty Machado, the 16-year-old Navarro High School student, placed among the best of the best in the world during the 2018 World Food Championship held this past year in Alabama. Competing among nearly 1,500 chefs in the world, Ty came out on top with a tremendous 7th place finish in the world for Steak.

KWED Holiday Food and Toy Drive set for this Friday

(Seguin) -- You've got four days to gather your donations. It's time to roll up your sleeves and take part in this season of giving by providing donations to the Seguin Police Department Blue Santa Program and Christian Cupboard food panty. Seguin Radio KWED will again be hosting its annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive this Friday outside its studios at 609 E. Court St.

(Seguin) - Jacob Kouremetis hit a pair of three-pointers in the final minute, including the game-winner with 14 seconds to play, to lift the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs to a 79-77 home win Monday against Concordia Texas.
