Tickets still available for MTS Big Band Blowout II

(New Braunfels) -- Be sure to grab your partner for this weekend's Big Band Blowout, Part II. Tickets are still on sale for the swing dancing fundraiser hosted by The Mid-Texas Symphony. The event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the New Braunfels Civic and Convention Center.

Noche de Gala vocalist contest returns this weekend

(Seguin) -- A total of 17 contestants will take the stage during this year's 33rd Annual Noche de Gala Vocalista Competition. For years, vocalists from numerous South Central Texas communities have converged at Texas Lutheran University's Jackson Auditorium for the annual mariachi singing contest. The contest scheduled for Saturday night is held annually by Teatro de Artes de Juan Seguin.

Guadalupe County Elections Office provides recap of March 6 Joint Primary

(Seguin) -- The Guadalupe County Elections Office is wrapping up another successful March Joint Primary Election. That's according to Elections Administrator Lisa Adam. Adam says the unofficial numbers at this time report that 16,175 voters or 16.9 percent turned out to cast their ballots for their favorite Republican or Democratic candidates on Tuesday.

Marion trio to continue football careers with NCAA D-III programs

Marion football standouts Jacob Berry (left), Matthew Quigley (center), and Josh Rodriguez (right) finalized their college commitments during a signing event on the MHS campus Wednesday afternoon. Berry will play at Texas Lutheran University, while Quigley and Rodriguez will join the Sul Ross State program in Alpine.  
(Marion) – Marion High School seniors Jacob Berry, Matthew Quigley, and Josh Rodriguez signed letters of intent to continue their football careers at the NCAA Division III level Wednesday afternoon, with Berry staying close to home to attend Texas Lutheran University, and Quigley and Rodriguez heading to Alpine to play for Sul Ross State.
