Guadalupe County approves next step for future sheriff's office expansion project

(Seguin) -- The future expansion of the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office is officially on its way. Recent action taken by the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court authorizes the county to begin working with architects for the future design of the new added space for the sheriff's office.

City seeks financing for street, other improvement projects; Certificates of obligation sought for $5.5 million worth of projects in Seguin

(Seguin) -- The city of Seguin is taking on some additional debt soon to help pay for some much needed improvements in the city. The city is working to secure $5.5 million through certificates of obligation. The money would primarily pay for some street improvements, but it also includes funding for engineering work on the expansion of the Walnut Springs Trail, repairs on existing fire station buildings, and the creation of an additional parking area for the Seguin Police Department.

City announces latest round of Fix-It Facade grants; Grants help to fund downtown improvement projects in Seguin

(Seguin) -- The city of Seguin Main Street Program is doing it's part of "fix" up the city's downtown. The Seguin City Council on Tuesday approved the latest round of Fix-It Facade grants from the Main Street Program.

Main Street and CVB Director Kyle Kramm says approximately $30,000 worth of improvements will be coming to downtown thanks to the grants that will be spread out, and be used to help fund four new facade improvement projects.

Matador Band nominated for national award

(Seguin) --  The Seguin High School Matador Band has been nominated for the 2018 National High School Heart of the Arts Award sponsored by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). Seguin High School was nominated for the award by the University Interscholastic League (UIL).
