(Seguin) --  The Seguin High School Matador Band has been nominated for the 2018 National High School Heart of the Arts Award sponsored by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). Seguin High School was nominated for the award by the University Interscholastic League (UIL).

Seguin PD urges caution against slider theft

(Seguin) -- The Seguin Police Department does not want you to  fall victim to "slider theft."  PD officials say they have had some recent activity on this type of theft which involves victims at gas pumps and unlocked car doors. "Sliders" are suspects who slide into a victim's car by going through a rolled down window or unlocked car, while the victim is pumping gas or inside the gas station. Once inside, they say items such as purses, electronics and money is taken. PD officials say all it takes is a few seconds. More

TxDOT, city signs funding agreement for trail expansion; Walnut Springs Trail to travel south to Seguin's Max Starcke Park

(Seguin) -- Funding is being put into place for a major project that will allow the city's Walnut Springs Trail to be expanded all the way to Max Starcke Park.  The Seguin City Council Tuesday approved an advanced funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for the trail expansion. The agreement will allow the city to begin expending some funds towards that project.

Navarro boys fall to Wimberley, still tied for fourth in 27-4A

(Wimberley) - Navarro was unable to knock off District 27-4A champion Wimberley Friday night in a 67-50 road loss to the Texans, but with Veterans Memorial's loss to La Vernia, the Panthers are still tied for fourth place in the district standings with a single game left on the schedule.

SHS soccer teams fall to Medina Valley
