Kuempel previews upcoming special legislative session; Kuempel shares action during 2017 Texas Legislative Session
Posted on 6/13/2017 8:08:00 AM.

(Seguin) -- Seguin and Guadalupe County's representative in Austin is taking a much needed breather before he finds himself back in action at the state capitol for next month's special legislative session as recently announced by Governor Greg Abbott. State Representative John Kuempel says although they have plenty of loose ends to tie up, he is proud of the many priorities that were scratched off the list including the adoption of a balanced budget.

"We passed again a balanced budget that we're constitutionally obligated to -- $216 billion is a lot of money, but when you associate that against growth and inflation, it's flat, maybe even a little bit under what those numbers are. So proud of the budget. It keeps the state's economy vibrant and growing," said Kuempel.
