(Seguin) -- Farmers and ranchers in Guadalupe County will again be bringing rural and urban communities together thanks to the common thread of food. The Texas Farm Bureau will be serving $1 pork burgers during the annual Texas Food Connection Day. The event is slated for 11:30 a.m. Friday in the local farm bureau office.More

(Seguin) -- Guadalupe County's Fire Marshal and Emergency Management Coordinator is officially getting some extra help. The Guadalupe County Commissioners Court on Tuesday welcomed Bryce Houlton to the office. Houlton will serve as the assistant under the direction of Fire Marshal and EMC coordinator Patrick Pinder. Houlton says he brings plenty of experience to Guadalupe County.More

(Seguin) -- The city of Seguin is trying to reinvest some of its funds into the downtown area. The city council recently approved this year's recipients of the city's FIX-IT Facade Grants. The grants are part of a competitive process that's administered by the city's Main Street Program. More

(Seguin) -- Seguin High School has plenty to cheer about. Suzanne Zink, Seguin High School head cheerleading coach, has been named a 2016-2017 5A/6A Cheerleading Coach of the Year by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. Zink, who started her career as an assistant dance instructor and part-time teacher, says she's excited about the honor, and couldn't believe the news when she first received word from a friend. More

(Kyle) – The Seguin girls basketball team was unable to pull a 4-seed, 1-seed upset in the 5A bi-district playoffs Tuesday night, as the Matadors’ season ended in a 43-23 loss to Austin High, the TABC’s 10th-ranked team in the state, at Lehman High School in Kyle.

Seguin boys drop home finale to Dripping Springs, turn focus to bi-district playoffs
(Seguin) – With second place and the No. 2 playoff seed in Distrit 26-5A already secured, the Seguin boys basketball team dropped its regular season finale to Dripping Springs 56-54 Tuesday evening at Goldie Harris Gym.
